Bethesda, MD — January 30, 2020 — eSimplicity, an 8(a) Woman-Owned Small Business specializing in Healthcare IT, Cybersecurity and Telecommunications solutions, announced today that it has been successfully appraised at level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)® for Development (CMMI-DEV).

CMMI is a capability improvement framework that stresses a culture of continuous improvement and provides guidance to organizations on where to focus their process improvement efforts for the greatest impact. Truly Agile organizations must build dynamic capability on a stable backbone of process, governance, and organizational structure. eSimplicity embraces the combination of CMMI and Agile approaches to achieve this seemingly paradoxical combination that creates true organizational agility. The appraisal team recognized eSimplicity’s process maturity through our Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practice.

This is the first time eSimplicity has undergone a CMMI appraisal and the appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates eSimplicity is performing at a “defined” level. Performance at a defined level demonstrates that eSimplicity’s organizational and project level processes are well characterized, understood and tailored to address project and work characteristics. Furthermore, this verifies that eSimplicity’s standardized processes are implemented in accordance with established organizational policies and validated projects are monitored, controlled, reviewed, and continually evaluated.

Independent appraisers and experienced practitioners conducted the formal evaluation which took place over the course of several days at the eSimplicity Headquarters office in Bethesda, MD. The eSimplicity appraisal team was provided with a detailed analysis of the organization by the appraisers who highlighted strengths and recommendations for improvement. The appraisers did not report any weaknesses in their analysis.

The appraisal team had multiple strengths that they shared with our team, highlighted among these were exceptional execution of Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) within eSimplicity’s projects. They discussed the outstanding use of tools to manage the project and processes effectively and ensure the highest quality of performance.

eSimplicity has been laying the groundwork for this certification for several years and is pleased to have officially received recognition of this certification which will continue to help the organization support current and future clients.
